   Grains in Modest Retreat Early Monday

   July corn is down 6 1/4 cents, July soybeans are down 5 1/4 cents and July
KC wheat is down 11 cents.

   Pre-6 a.m. CDT prices, CME Globex: July corn is down 6 1/4 cents, July
soybeans are down 5 1/4 cents and July KC wheat is down 11 cents.

   CME Globex Recap: Early Monday, Dow Jones futures are trading a little
higher with European markets mostly steady. Friday's report from the Labor
Department showed nonfarm payrolls up 266,000 in March, a far cry from the 1
million expected. COVID-19 cases in India remain a global concern, but June
crude oil is slightly higher and not far from its high of 2021. The Colonial
fuel pipeline is working to restore service to almost half of the U.S. East
Coast after being hit by a cyber-attack and demand for ransom Friday, reported
BBC news.


   Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 229.23 at
a new high of 34,777.76 and the S&P 500 up 30.98 at 4,232.60 while the 10-year
Treasury yield ended at 1.58%. Early Monday, June Dow Jones futures are up 88
points. Asian markets are a little higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up
0.55% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.27%. European markets are
mostly steady with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.02%,
spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.01% and spot futures of France's CAC
Index trading up 0.05%. The June euro is down $0.0006 at $1.2168. The June U.S.
Dollar Index is down 0.05 at 90.17. The June 30-year T-bond is down 32/4nds,
while June gold is up $4.50 at $1,835.80 and June crude oil is up $0.31 at
$65.21. On China's Dalian exchange, September corn was up 1.1%, July soybeans
were down 0.2%, September soybean meal was down 0.9% and September soybean oil
was down 0.2%. July common wheat on China's Zhengzhou exchange was unchanged.
June Malaysian palm oil is trading down 1.9%.
